Living in Lake Havasu City definitely has its benefits. With over 360 days of sunshine each year, a mild and warm climate, clean air, great schools, state of the art medical facilities, modern parks and municipal facilities – Lake Havasu City truly is the best place in the southwest to live, work and play. While mid summer temperatures are quite warm, the average daily temperature is 89.2 degrees. The warmest month is July and the coolest December.

There are scenic and well-maintained beaches, parks and municipal facilities for all ages to enjoy and our hospital is a fully certified medical center providing all levels of care. Special events and activities are scheduled throughout the year along with several cultural events including live community theater - there is something going on all the time for everyone. Local government is progressive, crime is low and our streets and public spaces are well planned and maintained. The volunteer spirit is also alive and well in Lake Havasu City which contributes to an extraordinarily high quality of life for those who call Lake Havasu City home.

Nearly 53,000 call Lake Havasu City home. The average median age is 48.1 with the highest percentage of residents between the ages of 55 – 64. About 36 percent of the total population is between the ages of 20 – 54; and just over 20 percent are children up to age 20.

The most recent census figures indicate the average household size of 2.2 persons with 24,000 total households. Length of residence is fairly stable with 30 percent in residence for five-plus years. 65.3 percent of households are of married couples. 39.2 percent of households drive at least 2 vehicles.

There are several outstanding educational facilities in Lake Havasu City. Lake Havasu Unified School District includes one high school, 6 elementary schools and 1 middle school. Current enrollment in the District is approximately 6,300 students. There are several parochial schools and charter schools including Telesis Center for Learning and Lake Havasu Preparatory Academy.

State of the art medical care abounds in Lake Havasu City. Havasu Regional Medical Center provides all levels of care and is JCAHO-accredited.  In 2011 the hospital opened a new birthing center and wound care center. Additionally, the hospital has a state-of-the-art Cancer Treatment Center and Heart Centre and Cardiac Cath Lab.
