The wonderful world of Lake Havasu City is located on Arizona Highway 95, 19 miles south of Interstate 40. The city borders on the Eastern Shore of 45-mile long Lake Havasu, which is formed by Parker Dam on the Colorado River. Our elevation is 575 feet above sea level.

Lake Havasu City is located in the midst of a triangle whose three points are Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Las Vegas is 160 miles to the north. Greater Los Angeles is 310 miles to the west and Phoenix is 200 miles to the southeast. Lake Havasu City is accessible via Interstate 40 and Interstate 10. State Highway 95 connects theses two east/west interstates.

Figures show the population in 2008 to be approximately 55,429 making us a major population center of southern Mohave County. Statistics show the average age of residents to be 35-40 years.

Approximately 6,300 children attend the City’s six elementary, two middle schools, and one senior high, as well as private and charter schools. Mohave Community College offers a wide range of classes at a two-year college level plus a four-year NAU program. MCC also partners with several other universities to offer advanced degree programs.

There are approximately 4,700 businesses and/or professional offices active in Lake Havasu City. More than 35 churches of various denominations hold religious services. Lake Havasu City is proud of its clubs and organizations, which number over 150.

Our city is fortunate to have excellent medical and dental specialists. Two nursing homes, several assisted living places and over thirteen homecare facilities are available.

City Police provide Law enforcement. The Police Department is located at 2360 McCulloch Blvd, (928) 855-1171. The Fire Department provides protection from its four stations, giving the city an insurance rating of three, far superior to most Arizona communities. The Fire Department’s main firehouse is located at 96 S Acoma Blvd, (928) 855-1141. A Justice, Superior and Municipal Court are located at 2001 College Dr, (928) 453-0711.

The local newspaper is, Today’s News Herald, 2225 W Acoma, (928) 453-4237. There are also several advertising publications.

UniSource Energy Co provides electric utility service and natural gas, 1760 McCulloch Blvd, (877) 837-4968. Telephone service is provided by Frontier Communications, 1760 McCulloch Blvd, (928) 453-1122. Cellular telephone service is available through several independent providers in addition to Frontier Communications. Water is supplied by the City; contact the City offices at (928) 855-2116.

News and music can be heard on Lake Havasu City’s many local radio stations. Eight television channels are available through local UHF relay, plus two local channels. Cable television is provided by Cablevision, 730 W Acoma Blvd, (866) 674-1800. Satellite television is also available through several different companies.

There are more than 1,900 hotel/motel and condos available for guests; it is strongly urged that reservations be made in advance. The convention hotels provide over 15,600 square feet of professionally managed meeting facilities, accommodating groups of up to 450 each or combined up to 1,000 people.
