Tee Time Team Building and Networking!

The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Open is back!

Downsized to a golf outing in recent years, players have told us they’d like to see the tournament and team building revived. We agreed.

“Golf Through the Ages” is scheduled for Friday, May 12 with check-in at 6 a.m. and the four-person scramble start an hour later at The Courses at London Bridge Golf Club, Olde London West Course, 2400 London Bridge Drive.

The tourney offers cash prizes for first, second and third place finishers – no trophies – and if you dress for success as golfers did in days long gone, there are prizes for first through third place winners.

Play is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four in this best ball tourney, and it includes two drink tickets per golfer and a taco bar lunch. There will be prizes for closest to the pin and for the longest drive.

For $300, Chamber members may get a foursome and have tee sign on one of the holes – the business provides the sign.

For $500, a Chamber member may pay fees for their foursome, and in addition to the tee sign, they may have a marketing table on one of nine holes; this offer is limited to the first nine to sign up. Giveaways and side contests are suggested for those golfers awaiting their turn at the tee.

Golf carts are included with all fees – there will be a 50-50 drawing and golfers will get a one-foot string if they need to improve their score on a given hole – clip off the length of string needed between the hole and the wayward ball to reduce your score!

“There have been fewer golf tournaments in town in recent years,” says Niki Nickle, Membership and Special Events Manager, said. “That’s the whole reason we stopped – it was oversaturated.”

One idea has caught fire – winners of drawings will be selected while players are out on the course. When they come back after the final hole, the list will be posted and prizes available. That will shorten the sometimes-lengthy winners program.

Sponsorship packages are being prepared and announced on the Chamber website, and those interested in them may contact her at the Chamber office. Golf sponsor form. Golf foursome registration.
